Jefferson Middle School Statesman Band

The Jefferson Middle School Band is where the musical journey begins for many of our future Marching Mustangs. Serving students in grades 7–8, the program provides a strong foundation in instrumental music through engaging instruction, ensemble performance, and opportunities for personal growth. Under the direction of Shane O'Leary, students develop fundamental musicianship, teamwork, discipline, and confidence while preparing for continued success at Merritt Island High School.

Throughout the year, students perform in concerts, school events, music assessments, and community performances, gaining valuable stage experience while building lasting friendships. As part of the unified 7–12 band program, Jefferson musicians benefit from a seamless transition into the MIHS Band Program, where they can continue their musical journey through concert band, jazz band, marching band, and color guard.
